Just when we think we’ve got a list of the best San Antonio restaurants locked down, a new ranking comes out to turn it on its head.

Business review site Yelp recently released its list of the top 100 places to eat in San Antonio, their first such list for the Alamo City, and there are some names you don’t regularly see at the top of the pile.

While notable restaurants typically make “best” lists based on their food and critic reviews, Yelp compiled their ranking based on number of reviews and their star ratings.

That being the case, several establishments at the top may surprise you.

After spending a few years in Brooklyn New York learning all there is to learn about what a true Deli is, Owner Aleem brought his know how and the New York Style Deli back home to the Great State of Texas, hence was born Gino’s Deli and hands down the best Philly Cheese Steak this side of Mississippi!!!!! From its humble beginnings as a small flat top serving a few customers a day it has grown in to a neighborhood institution and a North San Antonio Legend.
