After spending a few years in Brooklyn New York learning all there is to learn about what a true Deli is, Owner Aleem brought his know how and the New York Style Deli back home to the Great State of Texas, hence was born Gino’s Deli and hands down the best Philly Cheese Steak this side of Mississippi!!!!! From its humble beginnings as a small flat top serving a few customers a day it has grown in to a neighborhood institution and a North San Antonio Legend. Having been constantly featured in well over 200 local and national publications and Best of San Antonio, Best in Texas and Best in America lists, this tiny deli has come a long way from its humble beginnings. The menu that once had just 5 items now boasts 30 including 15 home grown innovative sandwiches.

Great article in the Rivard Report – we live around the corner and didn’t realize what we were missing! Do you by chance offer a gluten-free bread option?
Hello Ashley, Thank you for your kind words. We were surprised as well at the report. Unfortunately we do not have a glutten free bread, we do how ever make Salads and Lettuce wraps of all our burgers and sandwiches, additionally we would love to incorporate any bread that you bring in to make a sandwich. I just recently moved to this area and found a diamond in the rough!! I’m so happy you brought us a taste of a really great sandwich! Guys, the personnel that works there are friendly and remember you! The food is to DIE for.
We are so blessed to have this wonderful restaurant in San Antonio!!! Not only are the sandwiches fantastic (My personal favorite is the BLT with jalapeños and pickles!), but the staff is super friendly and community minded! On Saturday and Sunday, they have the best Barbacoa that is so versatile in all sorts of recipes!!!
