Gino’s Deli at Stop N Buy
It’s downright silly to call Gino’s Deli a convenience store. About three-quarters of its Stop N Buy home is really counter space for Gino’s Deli, with several long wood and steel tables that run the length of the store, save for two aisles sort-of packed with chips, candy bars and sodas.
The real star of the show is Gino’s signature Philly cheesesteak sandwich, a grilled torpedo of rib-eye steak, bell peppers and provolone cheese that’s made its mark on many a best-of list, including Express-News dining critic Mike Sutter’s own list of five must-eat San Antonio sandwiches.
