Nothing starts an argument or a Twitter fight quite like declaring the city’s best sandwiches.
But some days, you don’t want confrontation. You just want a sandwich.
In the interests of peacemaking, we’ve put together some San Antonio sandwiches that have caught our attention in the past few weeks, from tortas ahogadas to something Serious.

Philly cheesesteak at Gino’s Deli at Stop N Buy
Hiding in plain sight as a North Side convenience store, Gino’s Deli is so popular that they’ve stopped selling gas. This sandwich is part of the reason: a long torpedo roll stuffed with a grilled cornucopia of rib-eye steak, onions, bell peppers and smoked provolone ($8.49).
They roll it in foil for a steamy marriage that wrecks the lettuce and tomato, but that hot mess is part of the charm. The rest of the store?
