Ready to feast on a 2020 bucket list? Yelp’s data science team already built it for you.
The restaurant review, reservation and delivery app reviewed top restaurants by ratings and number of reviews in 2019 across the U.S., with representation based on each place’s share of top-rated restaurants nationally. The list is then curated with the expertise of Yelp community managers around the country to finalize the rankings, with the goal of creating a list as quirky, interesting and unique as the Yelp community itself.
That is, the list isn’t full of exclusive, expensive, elitist eateries, but rather rampant with smaller, more casual and innovative concepts that draw crowds (but not necessarily professional critics. There are plenty of big name, famous restaurants nationwide food magazine subscribers are familiar with, but this list aims to introduce Americans to a new slew of tasty spaces.
“Yelp’s Top 100 Places to Eat in the United States list is more accessible than a list of all fine dining establishments and really reflects the uniqueness of the Yelp community,” Yelp’s Trend Expert Tara Lewis says. “From food trucks to fine dining, and vegan Mexican fare to deli sandwiches, this year’s list truly reflects Yelp’s ability to help you find a great local restaurant, no matter your budget or mood.”
